Looking Ahead to the week of October 3-7

We have a busy week coming up.  Next Wednesday, October 5th, all 3rd graders will be taking the Reading OAA test.  A letter was sent home to my class on Friday from Mrs. Walker about the test.  It is important that your child comes to school on time on Wednesday.  We will be testing for 2 1/2 hours in the morning.  If your child comes late that morning, they will not be allowed into the room.  All students will take this test again in the Spring.  A score of 400 or more is passing.  I will send more information home about that when we get this first round of test scores back!

In social studies, we will finish up learning about the compass rose.  We will complete a study guide together in class on Tuesday.  Please help your child study for this test.  They will not be able to use their study guide this time around.  The bullying test also went home this week.  Hopefully your child share their test with you.

Our focus this week in math is working on adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit numbers.  Many children are still struggling with "borrowing" and "carrying".  Any extra practice at home on these skills would be appreciated.  You can use this as your 15 minutes of daily math practice too!

Homework for next week has been updated.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
